PTO Minutes of 2/15/2011

Meeting opened with Rachel Rice's prayer at 6:35pm.

 

Mr. Roemke reported that World Vision received close to $1,000 in donations, and $500 matching from Thrivent. Teachers will narrow down the animal choices and the students will choose which herd or animals to buy for those families in need.

PTO Highlights December 2010

Meeting was called to order at 6:36pm.

 

Booster Club report of finances reports that B-ball admissions and concessions were $660.00 We also bought uniforms, and paid $900 for them which was paid for out of this way to raise funds. Parents were encouraged to volunteer for Booster Club.

October Highlights

Highlights of PTO Meeting
October 13, 2010

Meeting called to order by President Melissa McClellan, and opened in prayer by
Dave Myhre.

Presentation by Tim Kong about Book Cycler, recycling old books into new hands to
help fund-raising for our school.

Denise Frederick, PTO Treasurer, presented details about the Scrip program, and
explained how it doesn’t cost more out of pocket than you’re already spending for
the same everyday items (gas, clothing, etc.) There is a 9 page list of member stores.

Meeting was called to order by 6:35 pm.

Discussion of the fund-raising and school calendar for 2010-2011 year.

April 22 Highlights

Highlights of PTO Meeting 4/22/2010

Arts and Crafts Festival needs  a concession chairperson, contact Mary Jordan. Melissa McClellan will chair the bakesale for that event.

National Day of Prayer, May 6th, still needs some parents to pray at chapel. Contact the office.

Teachers Appreciation Day, May 11th, still needs food and volunteers for all areas, see Nancy Neff.

Field trip list of suggestions was discussed. Parent input will be solicited in the near future.

We are seeking anyone who has experience or can help to do the background information required for financial aspects of grant-writing.

School fundraisers were discussed. Pam Stanley will help Melissa organize next year’s calendar and fundraisers for optimum effectiveness.

Procedures for future election of officers was discussed.

Middle school musical (Dear Edwina) will raise funds with “shout-outs” in the Playbill, proceeds to benefit Fine Arts department.

School portrait contract (pre-K thru 8) was awarded to Ismile at Colonie Center.

Two officers were appointed to terms ending June 30, 2011. Treasurer Diane Frederick and Secretary Patricia Williams.

Next meeting is Thursday, May 20th at 6:30 pm.
