My StoryI started teaching at Our Savior's Lutheran School in 1995 after teaching in Lutheran schools in NYC for three years. My PhilosophyLearning should be fun and interesting for each child to learn. Children will love to learn if learning is exciting. All children need to know that Jesus loves them and died for them. Knowing God as your personal savior is the most important part of learning. Each child should feel safe at Our Savior's Lutheran School. Every child is capable of learning and God has created them for a purpose. As a teacher, I need to learn how best to reach each child's learning style. I also believe a class is like a family where we need to learn to love and work together. My Favorite Bible VerseProverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. This verse has become poignant to me through the years because of Christ's discipling work in my life. Twenty-six years ago God led me to postpone my last year of college so I would learn to depend on Him and not man's wisdom. God is still training me to depend on Him through many circumstances.I believe this is one of the major lessons God wants each of us to learn - to not depend on ourselves but to totally lean on Him and completely and wholly lean on his everlasting wisdom. What a simple statement, but what a revolutionary way of thinking.
