The 1st Annual NYS Lutheran School Invitational Tournament will become a reality very soon, and we are fortunate enough to be able to host it! I can't believe it's almost here!
I am excited to announce that Thrivent has come along side us to assist in sponsoring the event with a $1,000 gift as well as sending us a few volunteers to help the day of the event. We will be printing programs for the tournament with some thank-you spots for companies and organizations who have made donations such as Thrivent.
Be sure to stick around for the Awards Ceremony at 4:30. We are giving tournament plaques to the championship teams, as well as smaller plaques for 2nd & 3rd place. We will be awarding certificates (i.e. MVP) to individual players at that time as well.
To make the tournament even more exciting, we will be having announcers who would be responsible for introducing the starting players before each game, in addition to baskets, timeouts and scores. We also know that music plays an important part in sporting events. We are incorporating that energy in the tournament.
We will continue to charge $2 admission for all adults and high school students (elementary and middle school students are free). Parents (and their immediate families) who are volunteering that day will be admitted to the tournament free. Admission, concessions and lunch will help offset the cost for officials and the purchase of our new basketball uniforms. Lunch will be available from 12:00-1:30 for a nominal price.
